Ministries

66 In 2026 – Our goal is to read 66 Books in the year 2026! Use this outline 66 in 2026 for the reading schedule. Monday through Friday we will read three (3) to four (4) chapters PLUS a Psalm or Proverb chapter. Saturday and Sunday can be reading catch-up days, or you can go back and read again a passage that God has placed on your heart. Our Sunday worship will include readings from the prior week, as we delve into the Word of the Lord. Oh, and we are reading the Books of the Bible in chronological order (based on dates scholars believe the books were written, not when they occurred). Pastor TC recommends that you find a new Bible translation that you feel comfortable with and not just stick with the KJV! Try a paraphrase Bible…ask Pastor TC for help or see the Bible Translation Comparison charts in the office. Free Bibles are available for anyone that needs one.

7-7-7 MINISTRY – 7 Minute devotional on Facebook at 7pm, 7 days a week. Visit our Facebook page: “Bethany United Methodist Church” or “@MarysvilleBethany”

BETHANY BLESSING BOX – The Blessing Box is located by the Fellowship Hall entrance; non-perishable food items are available for those in need. Take what you need/leave what you can.

BETHANY COMMUNITY GARDEN – The Garden is a space for the community to share their passion for gardening and share their harvest with those in need of fresh produce in our community. Volunteers are invited to tend the crops, with all the harvest available for anyone in need. (Think of the Gardens as a “perishable” Blessing Box.)

BREAD RUN – Daily deliveries of day old bread to local ministries

BREAKFAST BUNCH – The Breakfast Bunch meets at the Marysville Diner, Mondays at 8:30 a.m. All are welcome to join for breakfast and conversation. The conversation/topic may stem from questions from Sunday’s sermon or current events and world happenings. Come on out for breakfast, fellowship, and discussion.

CHOIR – Adult choir, Children’s choir, and Bell choir…make a joyful noise unto the Lord! See Amanda Bucher for more details on choir practices.

COMMUNITY AID – As a partner with Community Aid, Bethany receives credit for clothing, household items (no furniture), electronics, and toy donations dropped off at their facility. For Bethany to receive credit, provide our partnership number 10230 when dropping off your donations.

FAMILY FAITH BUILDERS/GAME NIGHT – Family Faith Builders/Game Night is a time for families (all ages & sizes) to “build” relationships through fun, family centered activities in a faith-based environment. The young and the young-at-heart come together to share a meal, devotions, activities and more. Menu will vary, but may include items like hot dogs, BBQ, drinks, chips, etc. We meet the last Wednesday of the month at 5:30pm.

HANDS AND FEET MISSION WORKDAY (SHIREMANSTOWN UMC) – Bethany UMC is partnering with Shiremanstown UMC and the Hands & Feet Mission weekends. Can you pull weeds? Can you paint? Can you help organize cupboards? Can you help clean? All of the above have been mission weekend projects through Hands and Feet! Prayerfully consider how you can help (even if it is joining us for breakfast at Shiremanstown UMC to clear plates after the meal!). For more information see Ned Willard or visit their website at https://sumc.info/serve/hands-feet/

MARTHA & MARY MEAL AT MARYSVILLE BETHANY – 2ND THURSDAY OF THE MONTH, 5PM
Lazarus, Martha, and Mary opened their Bethany home for others to join at their table, get to know each other and encourage one another to grow in their relationship with the Lord. The Marysville Bethany family welcomes you into our home! The Lord has blessed our tables, and we extend those blessings to our neighbors in our beloved community. Join us the 2nd Thursday of the month for a free community meal. The meal will be served at 5pm (doors open at 4:30pm). All are welcome to the table!

MEN’S BREAKFAST: FOOD, FELLOWSHIP, FAITH – All men (young and young at heart) are invited to join local men’s groups in our community. Shiremanstown UMC in Shiremanstown: group meets 7:30am at Shiremanstown UMC.

MISSION CENTRAL – We are collecting gently used shoes to be redistributed to Funds2Orgs network. To date, we have collected over 1,000 pairs of shoes. Purse kits for the homeless (see list in sanctuary for kit items), and cleaning bucket supplies for UMCOR are also being collected.

PRAYER CHAIN  We all need intercessory prayer. The brothers and sisters of Marysville Bethany are here to pray for you. Reach out to Pastor TC with your physical, emotional and spiritual needs and we will ignite the power of the Holy Spirit in your name.

BETHANY SISTERHOOD CIRCLE – The Sisters of Bethany, all ages, come together each month for a time of devotion, breakfast, and fellowship. We gather in the Fellowship Hall on the 2nd Saturday of the month at 8:00am.

SOUL CARE – How goes it with your soul? This is a different question than “How are you today?”  Just as we might feel sick physically, we can feel out-of-sorts with our spiritual health. We may even feel disconnected from the Lord.  It is times like these that it is important to have a spiritual companion to walk with you.  Pastor TC is available, by appointment, to walk with you as you work through your spiritual development and relationship with the Lord. For more information contact Pastor TC at 717-957-2030.

“Out of the fullness of his grace he has blessed us all, giving us one blessing after another.” (John 1:16) We are blessed and unite our gifts to be a blessing for others through the mission & ministry of the Lord at Bethany and around the world.
